Setting the Spur-Xerox maintenance issue straight!

First, let me state the following;  Xerox did not resell Spur maintenance.  Xerox sold their own Field Service Maintenance Agreements (FSMA) then, Xerox Reps would call Spur for "free" phone support to troubleshoot and resolve issues.  In September 2000, Xerox decided to terminate FSMA's when, Xerox found that Spur Products Corporation would no longer provide free phone support to The Xerox Connection, Field Techs, and Reps.

Since September 2000, Xerox has slowly sent out letters stating they "were unable to negotiate with SPUR Products Corporation for service support extensions..."  The fact of the matter is, Xerox was unwilling to pay a $30,000 yearly contract for a U.S. wide support agreement on all Xerox supported Spur interfaces.  Xerox has sold thousands of Spur units collecting several hundreds of thousands of dollars per year from Xerox FSMA's.  Instead of purchasing support services from Spur, they have asked each of their customers to spend ten's of thousands of dollars to upgrade to newer "Xerox supported" products.  Needless to say, this letter has prompted customers to call Spur, as we are made to look like the cause for the discontinuance of service.

Spur Support Services, LLC is offering maintenance coverage to customers on most interfaces less then 10 years old, depending on the type of unit.  Call today and find out if your Spur Products Interface qualifies.
