SPUR PRODUCTS AND XCD TEAM UP TO PROVIDE 100BASE-T NETWORKING FOR BUS & TAG PRODUCTION PRINTERS
February 16, 1998, Tustin, CA -- XCD Inc. and Spur Products Corp. have just signed an agreement to merge XCD print server technology with Spur SB/2K Express(tm) printer connectivity devices. This agreement allows a high-speed production printer to be shared by both IBM mainframes and by computers connected to LANs.
"Spur Products Corp. is very pleased to partner with XCD to further enhance its line of printer connectivity products" said Ben Price, Senior Product Manager " The added benefits of XCD's 100BaseT technology, more protocol support, and overall performance will ensure that Spur customers can use their production printers in virtually any Ethernet or Fast Ethernet networking environment."
According to Keith Sugawara, President of XCD, "The partnership with Spur Products is ideal for both companies because it takes advantage of our complementary technologies. Furthermore, it allows XCD to penetrate the IBM-compatible production printer market, a market in which we previously have had relatively limited presence. The agreement with Spur is one of several OEM relationships that XCD will be announcing in 1998."
